It all started with solid fuel

This is what forms the basis of the company, founded in 1949 and now run by the third generation of the Paap family, a commercial family from Hamburg. But today, the Esbit Compagnie GmbH, owned by brothers Philip and Robert Paap, stands for more than just solid fuel and stoves.

For more than 70 years, Esbit’s innovative products have been proving their suitability for everyday use under the most extreme conditions – often as the basis for ration packs where low weight and compact dimensions are crucial for use in missions.
